Horrible place. Wouldn't send my dog here. Dirty all the time. Not enough staff for the amount of patients they have. Employees spend more time smoking than anything else. Way under staffed. Atmosphere is tense. Was the best in Mt.
Vernon for years. Smells septic. MANY issues we had to deal with. I believe the employees would like to see some changes but the leadership seems unwilling. Would recommend you don't even consider Country Court of Mt. Vernon as a place for your loved one. Horrible place. I would go there to work for agency and the place is just so dirty and stinky. I felt like anywhere I stepped or put my hand that I needed to keep washing it.
The place had a really bad stinch odor that after working a shift it would take several washes for the odor to dissolve. Not to mention I really felt sad for the residents cause the Leverings dont care about Staff nor residents. There so understaffed that residents laid in faces and urine because we couldnt get through all the rounds every 2 hours most residents didnt even get there teeth brushed let alone a shower.
Seriously the residents are considered blessed if they get a shower once a month. If they can keep up with the buildings and etc and making it a comfortable end of life care or a rehab program than they dont deserve funding for it. I know sometimes it would be almost 11pm when my shift was ending and the resident is asking where there dinner is.
So sad. Asked when leaving KCH where i wanted to go for re-hab after hip surgery, i asked KCH if there was a place owned by the Levering family. Everyone was so nice, friendly, caring, helpful and treated the residents like their own family. I saw it as did everyone who visited her. That was enough for me. Everyone here at Country Court is just the same loving and caring people at Morrow Manor.
As far back as hood memory, Bruce Levering began in the health care business and his family has followed suite. All the staff from the cleaning room crew those who got the residents Mount Vernon South Dakota adult chat up or showered, filled ice water and snacks, to those who delivered and picked up our food, those that just stopped in to chat, all the PT staff right on up to the wonderful nursing staff they have right up to the nurse practioner.
Checking in and getting settled was so easy with everyone helping. My roomie was a real sweetheart and we shared many chuckles together. The worse part? Getting ready to Mount Vernon South Dakota adult chat. The nurses who helped get me ready shared hugs and even some tears with me. The reason I left so soon, my insurance booted me out! Actual leaving, my favorite nurse with the "south side of Mt. Vernon accent" hugged me and we cried a little, my roomie, too.
So sad to leave new friends so fast. What more can be said. I loved being here and choose to come back if I ever need re-hab again. Some issues within a nursing home are much more severe than others.
